Men's League Rules:

Standard ASA Rules Apply with the following modifications:
1.3 homerun per game limit and “hit-and-sit” for all home runs, in other words there is no need to run the bases after a ball leaves the yard. This is intended to speed up the games. HR limit is negotiable amongst managers before the game begins.
2. There is no courtesy foul for games at Braun. This means after a batter has 2 strikes, a foul ball will result in an out, again this is done with an eye on time concerns.
3. Game balls must be purchased from the park at a cost of $5 a piece, each team should have at least 3 balls per game to make sure there is no delay in getting homeruns and foul balls back into play.
4. Run rules 20-2, 15-3, 12-4 and 10 after 5, flip flop rule with be utilized beginning in Summer 2010
5. 5 minute grace for first game only with clock running.
6. A team may have 3 “non-alums” on their roster at one time, no more than 2 “non-alums” will be allowed in the lineup at one time. If there is a question as to someone’s status contact the commissioner to clarify.
7. Players must have 5 games played in order to be eligible for playoff play.
8. A team may play with as few as 8 with additions up to 10 as players arrive.

  • Teams may not pick up non-roster players to take lineup past 9 players without consent of the opposing coach, if you are picking up a player you must let the other team know in all situations
  • Teams may not pick up a player from the Non-Pick Up List (shown on website) without permission from opposing coach.
  • Picked up players must bat in the last available slots in the batting lineup and must play the following positions in order when taking the field: C,1B,RF,2B
  • No more than 4 pickups per game and a maximum of 4 per season, after the 4th pickup has been used any additional players may play defense but will be an automatic out when their turn comes up in the lineup.

9. Teams will be required to wear matching or similar shirts after their 1st game, if a team is in violation after the 1st game (i.e. 1 or more players without matching shirts) they will forfeit their home team status or give up a run per player that is not in uniform during that game.
10. Tossing of the bat in frustration will result in an ejection at the umpire’s discretion.
11. The F-Bomb will get you a warning for the 1st offense; the second time will be an ejection at the umpire’s discretion.
12. Ejected players cannot be replaced in the lineup and their spot in the order will result in an out each time it comes up.
13. Injured players can be removed from the lineup with no penalty to the team removing that player provided the coaches agree.
14. A player is considered to be “picked-up” if he gets one official AB.
15. A courtesy runner may be used once per inning, this runner shall be the last recorded out, at the time of the use.
16.
No outside drinks are allowed at the field, no ice chests, and no pets. Violators will be asked to leave; a second offense will result in a ban from the park. The bar at the park will be open and sell all drinks. No pets at the park. No drinking in the dugout.

17. NO DOGS ALLOWED AT THE PARK, ANYONE BRINGING A DOG MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

18. Any use of a shaved or painted bat will result in permanent banning from the league and a forfeit the remainder of the game being played. Should a question arise as to the legality of a bat the opposing team must file a formal protest with the commissioner. Bats will be weighed to determine if they have been shaved and obvious discrepancy will result in the bat being considered “illegal”, it is up to the managers to police their own players.

19. Please make an effort to keep players on your team from getting after umpires, if you have an issue take it up calmly and don’t make a spectacle, it will be more effective this way. Arguing balls and strikes will not be tolerated.

Top 10 teams will make the playoffs which will be single elimination format with the higher seed being the home team.
